Housewife Inspired

Another workday outfit, another amazing find from Shareen's vintage.

{Vintage dress via Shareen's, Franco Sarto wedges via DSW (old), Urban Outfittters watch, gifted pearls}
I am a total sucker for any piece with even a vaguely '50's silhouette (proof: here, here, here, and here). I just love the feeling of being a little 'done-up' that these kind of dresses easily provide. In this particular number, I totally feel like a retro domestic goddess (think more June Cleaver, less Real Housewives...though I am hopelessly addicted to that show).

The best part of this dress? The pockets!

Only a good '50's housewife would have fresh cut flowers at the ready.

Happy Friday! What are your weekend plans? Mine involve some quality time with a good friend soon departing for a month in Paris (can you say jealous?), a beach day, and some R&R including a pedicure and a haircut. Confession: I LOVE getting my hair cut. It's kind of an obsession. Is that just me?

  1. I love the pockets on this dress! Did you purchase the dress as it is, or did you have to alter it? I also love getting my hair but, but I'm trying to grow out my pixie cut now...so it might be another year before I get it cut again. :(

  3. Love that second to last pic! And the pockets on that dress are to die for. I always think it's kind of funny how I love pockets in dresses but I never, ever use them, haha.

    Getting my hair cut is one of my favorite things. I purposely grow it out so I can get a big, drastic hair cut every year or two. So fun!
