These photos were taken right up the street from our hotel in Paris, on steps of the Odeon Theater. 

Remember when one of the worst fashion crimes was the dreaded matchy-matchy? These days, I feel particularly chic when I layer pieces of the same color palette over one another-- especially in nudes, brights, or in this case, navy. Plus, embracing the matchy-matchy makes traveling fashionably that much easier, if you pack using pieces in similar color groups (not that I'm one to give light packing advice).

The Luxembourg Gardens

These photos were taken on my recent trip to Paris, in the Luxembourg Gardens. Although I had visited Paris before, I hadn't stopped at the gardens before, and I have to say, I was mystified. They are absolutely stunning, just like the rest of the city.

The weather in Paris was ridiculously perfect, so I was finally able to break out the spring clothing I brought abroad with me. I picked up this skirt at Madewell right before I left the U.S. I have a serious thing for pleats, so although I have a vintage version of this skirt that could be its twin sister, I couldn't resist this art deco-inspired piece. I love the juxtaposition of its neutral color palette and fun mix of stripes and polka dots.

Vacation Please

Even though its the weekend, I can't help but crave a longer break, preferably in a stunning tropical local such as this...

Last summer when I was in Paris, I spent a week contemplating the purchase of the most amazing panama hat. I ultimately decided not to buy it, mostly because I was worried about getting it safely home--big mistake. I need one. 

I've also been dying to find a retro, high-waited swimsuit like this.

On the other hand, when I saw these photos, I was reminded of how badly I want to go back to Paris...

I'm not usually a huge fan of Free People clothing, but I love the femininity and delicateness of this collection. 

So, the question remains: to the beach, or to Paris?
