Black and White and Red All Over

{Madewell jacket, J. Crew tank, Madewell jeans, vintage double-strand necklace via the Melrose Trading Post, Marc by Marc Jacobs sunglasses, Opening Ceremony boots, Michael Kors watch, Madewell bangle, David Yurman Ring, high school class ring}
My three-day weekend consisted of basically two activities: shopping and studying (what else does one really need, anyway?). I used the former as retail therapy for the latter.

On Friday I decided to venture out to the Barney's Warehouse Sale. Though the two-week sale extravaganza had been largely picked over, I did stumble upon several extremely discounted gems, including my newest obsession--these Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony boots.

I fell in love with everything about them. The thick, super-high heel, the rounded pointy toe, the lace-up/tassle effect, and the solitary buckle. They are the borderline-insane fashion item I've been searching in vain for all season.

I've had a fun time figuring out how to wear the boots, especially since winter is, for the most part, a thing of the past. While I do want to save them for next year's colder months, I'm thinking of pairing them with girly frocks and tights for this not-quite-spring weather situation we've been having lately.

Please excuse the gratuitous shoe shots, I can't resist...

My favorite part? The crocodile-effect detailing. Too. Cool.
