The Backpack Report

With school starting in less than two weeks, I've got back-to-school shopping on the brain. And yes, while that does include my ultimate guilty pleasure--new school supplies--I've also got fall style on my mind. One trend that is absolutely major this year is the backpack. And it's not just for kids anymore.

Allow me to introduce you, if you haven't already met...
This, my friends, is the ultimate luxury, the infamous $39,000 handbag from the Olsen twins' The Row (a brand that has been a major obsession for me as of late). Yes, this backpack is one of the most lust-worthy items I've seen in a long while. No, it is not something I will ever purchase in this lifetime. Why? Backpacks are meant to be practical, durable, and at least moderately affordable. My backpack of choice throughout high school was my trusty L.L. Bean (monogrammed, of course).

Here's a roundup of some of my favorite backpacks that will have you heading to class (or really, anywhere) in style:
one- Brandy & Melville, $60
two- Poketo, $58
three- Herschel Supply Co., $59
four- Urban Outfitters, $59
five- Marc by Marc Jacobs, $228
six- Nastygal, $58
And don't even get me started on tote bags. Those might deserve their own post, too. Stay tuned for more back-to-school style!

  1. Haha, I love how excited you are about back to school style! This year I am on placement as a teacher in a high school so I think I will have to rock the teacher look as opposed to the student ;) I love the stripy rucksacks in #2 - very French chic!

  2. Back to school shopping IS awesome! School supplies were a dream in our house: two teacher parents, oh heck yes!

Crushing hard on the UO backback, but I'm on the lookout for a new tote so I really hope you weren't joking about that last comment... :)

  3. Back to school supplies always left me with a feeling of dread, summer was almost over and school was on the horizon. Now, as a parent, I can't wait to ship my kids off to school.

  4. Gert's man acquired over the company, and yet after his the loss around 1970, Gert ran this show. Our friends George and Tim were situated fairly close by on another wing. Realistically it happens to be for several benefits. Taking away pockets which go from a single container to a different are another handy service. http://www.terraon.de/index.php?page=User&userID=21791
